How To Build Continually Growing Search Traffic
When it comes to SEO webmasters tend to think of ranking for the high traffic keywords, those that will drive huge amounts of traffic but take years to rank for, however this is not always what SEO is or should be about. When you begin to build your site you need to consider how you are going to increase traffic in the short term, how you are going to slowly build the popularity of your site.
In order to increase your traffic a little bit every month you have to implement longtail keywords. These keywords on their own are not going to send you high amounts of traffic, therefore you have to create multiple pages to target each set of longtails.
To continually target longtail key phrases and slowly build traffic, you are going to have to continually add content to your website, a whole page targeted to a particular set of keywords. Many businesses do not yet understand the power of a blog, however this is one of the best ways to target these keywords.
There are many keyword tools available to identify these longtail terms, however Google’s is the best. Try and look for related keywords that have very few searches every month, these are the ones we can target in blog posts and our site and articles.
Building one or two pages is not going to work on a longtail strategy you need to be creating 3 – 5 pages every week, each new page targeting a new keyword. Even if each page only increased traffic by 10 visits a month, imagine the difference over a year when you have created hundreds of pages.
So it’s simple really, continually build content, target low traffic with easy to rank for keywords, then sit back and wait for the new relevant traffic to hit your site month after month that is relevant and profitable.
